To Be or Not to Be...

There is a lotta hubbub about the value of a good routine to start the day. Exercise, journaling, time outside, quiet time, breathing, manifesting, mantras, stretching, celery juice, lemon water, smoothies, meditating… oh my!

I’m being a bit facetious because even this great stuff can get to be TOO MUCH!   But, it’s all good.

Distill it down to what you’ll actually DO.

All DOING aside… no doubt you already spend a lot of time looking at and planning your TO-DO list.

What I want to talk about is setting a declaration about how you are being in your day.

Here is what I mean: I’ve been working with a client on how to shift from head to heart, on how to show up in a relationship as light, fun, spontaneous… romantic.

They decided to add 10 min. of quiet thinking/meditation onto a daily morning workout. Great idea: stacking habits works - add a new habit onto an existing one.

We looked at adding accurate language and visuals into the 10 min.’s to enhance the focus on what is wanted. The word romantic summed it up.  A few places/experiences from the past conjured up the feeling.

My client decided that a declaration was the most powerful way to create this commitment: I am romantic. Telling the brain this daily as a practice will surely increase the likelihood during the day that romantic action follows.

You can also start with one word. One way of being that is really important to you, and say to yourself every morning I AM ____

Or you can create a whole page of declarations beginning with I AM.

Have fun with creating who you are,

Ellie
