The Secret of Change Is...

Happy New Year ,

"The secret of change is not to focus your energy on fighting the old but on building the new."  -The Way of the Warrior

Are you setting resolutions or intentions?

Resolutions don't work, they fizzle out. This may trigger some of you who that have already started in with your resolutions.  That's ok, disagreement brings interesting discussion AND I want you to succeed, so I'm telling it like it is!

Often when we set resolutions in reaction to something we’re unhappy with, and we inevitably fall off our goal, we feel guilt and shame. As in, you say you're going to lose 20 pounds. Then, feel like a failure, and perhaps quit the diet altogether when you have that second brownie.

On the other hand, when your intention is to create a healthy lifestyle, positive energy is focused in this direction of creation, and when you don’t eat healthy, it’s easier to keep going, to see the bigger picture of eating well most of the time. Rather than, "I've failed my resolution", you can say, " I am still a healthy eater."  Language is powerful.

With intentions, the focus is not on what we want to fix, but rather on what we want to create.

As you ease back ( yes, I did say ease back ) into the first work week of 2021 and continue to look ahead, here are a few questions that hopefully will inspire you.

  • If you chose a word of the year, what are 1-2 questions you can ask yourself daily to keep your focus on it?

  • How can you create success that includes meaning and joy?

  • Are you defining success on your terms, not someone else’s?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            On another note, I’m excited to offer my next program!

  • Do you want to stick to healthier boundaries this year?

  • Say no to everything draining and yes to everything energizing?

  • Be clear about what you want, need, and actually ask for it?

  • Lose the guilt when you put yourself first?

  • Finally stop overdoing the stuff you don't like in your work?

This may be for you!  Read on...
